Automatic industrial water softening filters

     The hardness of water depends on the amount of calcium and magnesium salts dissolved in it. Due to the excess of these substances, lime deposits are formed. Deposits accumulate on household appliances, heating elements and other surfaces: white spots appear on dishes, sinks, baths, does not boil the kettle for a long time and the refrigerator cools down for a long time. At work of heating surfaces with deposits of lime considerably increases the expense of the electric power, water from a shower and the crane runs weakly, soap badly soaps. 

     Water softening is the replacement of Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe3+ ions, e.g. Na+ ions. Cationic medium formed by fixed polymeric anions R- and moving Na+ ions. When chewing water through the column filled with ionite, the higher weight of Ca2+, Mg2+ ir Fe3+ ions push out the Na+ ions. Ionite (cationic medium) is regenerated during the passage of a concentrated NaCl salt solution through it. If the Na + ionic concentration in the solution is high, they push out the multi-valent ions and make the ionite again able to soften the water.  

     Water softening ions: multi-valent ions are replaced by Na+ inonics. The exchange reaction is as follows: 2 NaR + M2+ <==> MR2 + 2Na+. During the process of water softening there is a direct reaction.
     Water softening filters remove both calcium and magnesium ions which cause water hardness. The water softener consists of a filter body with filter load, an automatic control valve and a salt container. Water softening filters have automatic control that regulates the amount of treated water at the right time by turning the filter on and off and controlling all regeneration options.

         Filter loading - cationic filler. To refresh the load, a salt solution is used, which the filter prepares from the pressed NaCl salt.
     During the softening process, the hard water flows through the cationic load inside the filter. The calcium and magnesium ions are replaced by soluble sodium ions that do not settle on the heating surfaces. When the filter load is filled with calcium and magnesium ions, it must be renewed. During regeneration, a special salt solution (prepared by the filter itself) and water move in different directions and at different speeds, washing the load. Used water and salt solution are discharged into the drain.
