     To evaluate the effectiveness of this product it is necessary to carry out technical control of the process. For this purpose, ŠOMIS's technical consulting department has been appointed to provide consulting and control analysis. Technical consultations and maintenance are carried out under a separate contract.

 

 

Ferrofos® 8441

 

    

     Ferrofos® 8441 is a hardness stabilizer with a high dispersion capacity, for the treatment of cooling water and industrial water. The product is recommended for use in open cooling systems, condensers, etc., where, due to the high rigidity of large quantities of silt, deposits are formed.  The product prevents limescale formation when very hard tap water is used.

     Ferrofos® 8441 is a liquid product consisting of phosphonic acid and polycarboxylate acid. The product is neither volatile nor combustible. Ferrofos® 8441 contains no nitrogen compounds and very little phosphorus.

    Ferrofos® 8441 prevents the formation of water hardness crystals by blocking crystal growth (Threshold effect). During stabilization, the amorphous deposits break down, preventing the formation of deposits. The precipitation is then drained from the system into the drain. Sludge deposits also enter the dispersed phase and are removed from the system during drainage. The use of Ferrofos® 8441 is possible when the pH range is between 7.0 and 10.0.

     The dosage depends on many factors, e.g. concentration coefficient, stiffness, total alkalinity, chloride content, temperature, half-time (curing index) and must be selected with the help of ŠOMIS experts.

     The Ferrofos® 8441 system can be used as an undiluted or aqueous solution. The product should be introduced using an automatic dosing system, which is regulated according to the amount of water supplied, especially in systems where the amount of feed water varies greatly. All parts of the equipment designed to come into contact with the product must be made of acid-resistant material.

Ferrofos® 8500

 

   

     Ferrofos® 8500 is recommended for water treatment of cooling systems to prevent corrosion of steel, copper and copper alloys, deposits and contaminants in open recirculation systems of cooling water. The product can be used with a pH range of 8.0 to 9.0.

    Ferrofos® 8500 is recommended for the removal of corrosion in soft or medium-hard water.

   Ferrofos® 8500 is a liquid mixture of phosphonic acids, polycarboxylic acid and copper inhibitor. The product does not contain zinc. Ferrofos® 8500 is neither volatile nor combustible.

  1. Ferrofos® 8500 prevents the formation of water hardness crystals by blocking crystal growth (Threshold effect). During stabilization, amorphous deposits break up, preventing the formation of deposits. The precipitation is then drained from the system into the drain. 
  2. Ferrofos® 8500 provides optimal inhibition of mild steel and copper alloy corrosion.
  • Inhibition of mild steel corrosion, forming a protective layer, due to the synergistic effect of one of the phosphonic acids with Ca2+ ions.
  • Secondary inhibition of corrosion is due to the high dispersing properties of phosphonic and polycarboxylic acids (preventing the formation of deposits and contaminants on metal surfaces).
  • Inhibition of corrosion of copper alloys by forming a protective layer of copper inhibitor.

Ferrofos® 8509

 

    

     Ferrofos® 8509 is an organic corrosion inhibitor for water cooling systems. It is used for complete organic treatment of water cooling systems at pH in the range from 8.2 to 9.0.

The product is designed for water treatment of cooling systems, to prevent corrosion of steel, copper and copper alloys, deposits and contaminants in open recirculation systems of cooling water.

     Ferrofos® 8509 is a liquid mixture of phosphonic acids, polycarboxylic acid and copper inhibitor. Ferrofos® 8509 does not contain zinc. The product is neither volatile nor combustible.
